The key holistic objective of sustainability is to make it truly viable. This should not be confused with ‘economism-type’ thinking. It is much more. The viability needs to be pinned to a viable value system, ethically based, working as through an accounting system with social and cultural benefits to mankind.

Ecology has been identified as a key plank of sustainability. One must understand that in the modern world the Built Environment needs a new look at viability. Many indigenous cultures have a deep understanding of nature and the universe, not dividing themselves away from the realities of their existence. Once we started building the paradigm changed.

We will explore the way viability can be achieved through proper interaction of built environments and the social / cultural existence of mankind.
